Hi! I’m Lindsay Rigby, the founder of Brooklyn Postpartum (formerly known as Enriching Childhoods). I am a body-positive, sex-positive, and gender-affirming postpartum doula eager to hold space for new families as they transition into parenthood. As a queer and non-monogamous woman, I feel passionately about providing community-based, accessible support to LGBTQIA+ folx, fellow polyamorous families, and neurodiverse families.

My Journey Toward Postpartum Doula Support: In my time as an early childhood educator, I connected with countless parents who described their struggles with disconnection and loneliness stretching back to the weeks and months after the birth of their first child. Professional support, beyond that of their pediatricians, was few and far between – and support from friends and family often waned after birth when their presence was needed most. After leaving the classroom, I trained as a postpartum doula through DONA International, eager to connect with families earlier in their parenting journey to provide the support they truly need during those early joy-filled, blurry, exhausting days and nights.

Virtual vs. In-Person Support: My business began as a virtual one during the height of the pandemic, allowing me to provide virtual support to families nationwide and support new parents from Boston to Los Angeles. I’m eager to expand my business to begin providing in-person postpartum support to Brooklyn’s growing families.
